BIO Vanessa's artistic journey began in the idyllic countryside of Tennessee, where she was surrounded by lush trees and sprawling farmland. Her upbringing was instrumental in fostering her innate creativity. After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Middle Tennessee State University, she embarked on a successful career as a graphic designer in advertising for several years. However, her unwavering passion for creating fine art through painting eventually led her back to her roots, and she has never looked back since.
Vanessa's talent has gained recognition on a broad scale, as evidenced by her recent selection for the upcoming "Flying Solo" airport exhibition at Nashville Airport in 2024. Additionally, she was also chosen to participate in the 2023 Soundwaves Gallery at GEODIS Park. Vanessa was named one of "11 Emerging Contemporary Artists From Nashville to Know" by The Culture Trip, and her paintings have been showcased on an HGTV show. Her artwork graces private collections around the globe, including the Vanderbilt University Medical Center collection. Furthermore, her work has been exhibited in numerous shows and stores throughout the country. Vanessa is also a licensed artist through iCanvas. Currently, Vanessa resides in the picturesque city of Franklin, Tennessee, where she lives with her husband and two sons. Her stunning artwork and undeniable passion for the craft continue to inspire and delight art lovers around the world. ARTIST'S STATEMENT “I mainly work in acrylics, often adding genuine gold leaf touches. I enjoy studying light and reflection. I frequently pair impasto palette knife painting with smooth, blended brush strokes. Texture is an important element in my work. Nature is one of God’s beautiful creations, and I find endless inspiration in its ever-changing beauty. My abstract landscape paintings are meant to transport viewers to a calm and peaceful place, while leaving them with a sense of hope and joy.”
